Breyerfest Best of Customs

After the Keeneland Backstretch Tour, it was time to join plastic pony con. One of the coolest parts of Breyerfest was the unveiling of the Best of Customs contest finalists. 2022 was different because the finalists weren’t announced until Thursday. In previous years the hobby knew the finalists in each category. This leveled up the excitement.

The Best of Customs were displayed in the same room as the Artisan’s Gallery—which had a plethora of fantastic pieces.

Artists displayed so many cool models on their tables.

Getting to the actual table was a struggle since there were many others that also wanted to see the finalists.

And for good reason. Aren’t they amazing?

I loved Kylee Parks’ entry. Simply breath taking.

Look at those details!

Kenzie Williamson of Bridle Tree Studio’s performance finalist really captured a snapshot of movement.

Laura Skillern of Don’t Eat The Paint created this for the most extreme. A model that is held up by a rope? Iconic.

Mel Miller‘s draft had so much movement.

And jousting?!?

Isn’t Danielle Feldman’s entry cool? The lambs were adorable.

Congratulations to all of the finalists and also the winners! Breyer wrote a blog post about the placings!
