Better Than The Book

I finished a traditional girth today. I’m happy with it and will finish sealing it in the morning.

I also saw Me and Earl and The Dying Girl in the theaters today with a friend. Since it was a limited release, it took it a while for the movie to get to where I lived. It’s based off of the book of the same name. When movies are made from books, the go to response is ‘well the book is always better.’ In this case, the movie surpassed the book. By a lot. I read the book on the cruise and felt ehh about it. But the movie was just awesome.

Also, Breyerfest is in 13 days. So the countdown begins.

Summer Saddle

The weather in PA has official turned summer-like. It’s been humid and hot, so that means staying inside or swimming. I consider summer to be summer the moment I finish school. My mom starts calling summer summer when the weather gets hot, so for her it’s now summer .
I finished this saddle pretty much (minus piping). I really like how the skirts came out on this!
I also wrote a collaborative post on Madison’s blog that deals with various customizing mediums and the pros and cons of different ones. The post is on Gyrfalcon Studios

Tuesday

The day started off on a somber note after listening to a Holocaust survivor’s experiences in Auschwitz. I’m taking a history class about the Holocaust because it’s a subject that interests me and the woman who talked was very nice.
Afterwards, I got a text from Lizzie. She’s making me a ‘secret saddle pad’, and this is the picture. Mean mean mean.

I also received an old packing set I made (I also received books that I had forgotten I’d ordered. So I guess I gave myself a gift.). I threw the packing set on my Dos Brio and added the Breyer Panniers to it. I love it so. I need to make new cinches for it, but that’s for another day!

To end the day, I had a riding lesson. I rode Charm and here she is in her stall after the lesson. :)

Hopefully everyone’s enjoying Spring!
