Side Saddling It

I’ve finished a sidesaddle   Now I would not per say call it good, but I like it! Now with every new pattern, you’ve got to try it out and see what you need to change it to be better.

Now I made the flat seat English Sidesaddle. In the book, there are four different sidesaddles. Judging from the one I made, Carrie Olguin makes the directions simple and easy to follow. I can defiantly see myself making more.

Contstruction

Here’s how I made the saddle in this post.

I used Rio Rondo’s alternative pattern and picked the Dropped Front Rigging assembly.

Then I cut out the pieces

and tooled it. Then I outlined it with a black marker. Afterwards I dyed it with a chestnut color.

Assembling it was pretty easy.

Using  Riversong Musing’s  how-to on movable fenders I made, well, movable fenders.
Afterwards, a piece of chamois was added and trimmed.
And well as you know, here’s the result. With the stirrups.
