I made a halter for my Chex resin. He may be naked, but he looks nice in a halter. And it even has his name on it! :)
My next project is scaling my saddle patterns. So draw…draw…paper…paper…snip…snip…snip.

The western side saddle really is finished this time. It really really like the way it came out. It’s the first piece of 2015 tack!
Western Bridle
I made a western bridle today (or yesterday). I don’t consider it a new day until I go to sleep and wake up. :)
It’s my best western bridle that I’ve made. I never expected it would take as long as it did or that I would be finishing it at 2 am, but I’m happy with it! It has some minor adjustments that need fixed, but I like it.
I put it on my new Travis, even though it wasn’t made for him.
Will get better pics when fix the straps!
Last Project of 2014
I finished the Champron horse armor. It’s the last finished piece of tack of 2014.
I found a pattern for a Champron from the Model Horse Performance magazine in my room, and used it for symmetry.
I redrew the pattern multiple times using the original as a basic outline for symmetry,
until I was happy and it looked like my reference.
Then I put it together.
Pinterest helped me so much. Finding specific references for the ones used in The Lord of The Rings was hard, so I pulled parts from all of the different ones I liked to make this one. It was based heavily on a Champron called a black horse mask.
I didn’t want to make one that was attached to a bridle, like many of the ones in The Lord of The Rings. I cut two slits into it and fed leather lace through it so it buckled. I did a similar process with the part where the jaw is, only with jump rings instead. The piece between the ears connects to the actual bridle.
I wanted the Champron to be able to fit multiple horses without sticky waxing it on. So that worked!
