I stayed at the Jordan Farm for Breyerfest 2017. It’s the same place I stayed at last year, but this year I had more down time and was able to walk around the grounds more. It’s within fifteen minutes of the Horse Park and Clarion. Isn’t it pretty?

While the Clarion is buzzing with hobbyists and the Kentucky Horse Park is the ultimate hub for plastic pony people, I got to wake up and play with a puppy and foals in the morning. Staying at the Clarion one year is on my list of hobby things I’d like to experience one day.

Anywats, I meandered down to the pastures where two mares and their foals lived. The pastures were located right outside of our door, so we could watch the sun rise over horse pastures.

The permanent farm dog named Fly followed me. She’s an older Border Collie.

She stared while I took pictures.

The horses happily walked over for rubs.

Look at that face. How couldn’t you pet that muzzle?

There was another baby too. The farm owners also owned another border collie named Bandit. Isn’t she cute? Since she’s a puppy she didn’t have full farm freedom like Fly.

I enjoyed the farm and found it to be as beautiful and quaint as last year. Next up is A Good Vintage and NoNANSense.

A Horse Filled Saturday

Last week I was asked if I would be interested in helping at a pony ride in Middletown. I said yes, so that’s what I did this morning. The pony ride was one of many activities offered to kids who brought their report cards with them. The big draw was the giving away of mountain bikes, but kids still meandered over to ride one of the two horses brought. I was in charge of the cute pony named Sweet Pea The other horse was a QH named Dolly. It was the first time for some of the kids to sit on a horse so Sweet Pea did a great job being gentle.

After the pony ride I rode back with the rest of the group and we saddled up other horses and went on a trail ride. The farm has nice trails and it was beautiful out today. I rode a QH mare named Lady.  We had a few moments of can we not have a bucking fit right this second, but other than that she was a good mount.

End of School

The last class of the semester was on Friday. I have two finals next week, but I’m pretty much done for the year. Which means I can have more time to hang at the barn!
So I spent Friday and Saturday at the barn.  Traveler is the Appaloosa and my favorite horse at the barn.

So I rode him on Saturday and Riley was around to take some pictures. 
Afterwards I took pictures.
On the model horse front, I finished an english hackamore. It’s the first one I’ve tried to do, and it was finished earlier in the month. I just finally got pictures of it on a model!
