Copperfox Pony

On Tuesday, my Copperfox Pony arrived. I pledged earlier this year to be a part of the kickstarter campaign and my package included a model off of one of the three available molds.

I really liked the Connemara mold the first time I saw her, because performance+pony=yes. So I chose her.

Love her face!
I really liked what was included in the package.
There was a Copperfox pin,
certificates of authenticity, a handwritten letter,
,a magazine, and a how-to packet for drawing breyer horses.
After seeing so many variations of dapples, I was worried about what extreme my model would be. When I opened my box, I was pleased that her dapples weren’t too bad. She did have a warped leg, but it wasn’t hard to fix. A blast of heat from my heat gun fixed the issue. I can’t wait to tack her up, and use her in performance.
While I wish the pony looked more like the prototype, I’m happy with my whole package and can’t wait until they’re released as regular runs. It was cool to be a part of the whole campaign. 🙂

Dolls Can Train Too

I saw Jurassic World as soon as it came out. I loved all of  it, especially the Dinosaurs. I totally would have gone to the petting zoo and ridden a triceratops.
But I loved the raptors more. Especially Raptor Squad.

Since the movie came out, Zoo keepers have recreated the picture above which depicted Chris Pratt’s character training the raptors. The recreations are awesome. This is one of my favorites, but you can see more here.

So today I had an idea. A model horse version. And these pictures happened. The models were easier to train than the dear doll. One gust of wind and she flopped.

“Stop with the attitude.”
“Eyes on me.”

This was a ton of fun to do!

I Lifft Things Up And Put Them Down

There’s a model horse piling challenge that’s on Facebook.

I decided to try it tonight. This was my thought when make the leaning pile of plastic ponies.

I made pile one and placed my Glossy Rachel Alexandra on top. While balancing on a chair and slightly leaning over the table, I took the shots. All models stayed where I put them.

A second pile with resins and rare plastic ponies came next. It has my Dos Brio, Working For Chex,Hearts Afire, and then my Breyerfest prize models. I did the balancing  act, and no shifting occurred.

After undoing the pile, I wrote my name with models. The domino effect only happened once! This was fun to do.

Vintage Day

I didn’t pay attention to the Vintage Club until this year.  I saw there was a Misty and Stormy (Coral and Reef), and I knew I had to have them. So I found a group still looking for someone to claim the Misty and Stormy pair, and the rest is history.
They came today.

I loved the vintage box they came in.

The pamphlet that came with them was just as cool. It gave a highlight of things that happened in 1961 and 1972. Breyer and real life.
I really like the ponies. I love the fact that Coral/Misty has the ‘four-eyed’ pattern.
They both have eye whites.
And each has its own blue ribbon sticker.

Today my theater is also showing showing The Breakfast Club in honor of its 30th anniversary. Since I wasn’t alive (from my mom “You weren’t even a thought”) when it first came out, I’m seeing it tonight. 🙂
