I smell…….

Five Paws Studio is close to hitting 50,000-page views!
So in celebration of that, I plan on having my first ever giveaway.
As you know, I don’t plan ahead. My planning ahead is the night before. But a giveaway, just as sending in entry forms for a show, causes one to do a little bit of planning ahead.
Since this is a big milestone (to me it is!), I’m planning on giving away a saddle. And it’ll be just in time for Christmas.
So I’m not blowing the trumpet yet for the giveaway. I have to finish the details. But I’m excited about the number so I couldn’t act like I hadn’t seen it!

2014 PA National Horse Show

So cheers to everyone who’s been a follower to someone who has just clicked. Thanks!

How Did I Start Blogging?
Once upon a time, long ago, in a small little village in the middle of a large forest…..
Just joking. No fairy tale start here.
And it didn’t start this long ago.

How did I start blogging?
In 2012 my friend Maddi, who runs Gyrfalcon Studios , had been hounding me to make a blog. Prior to then we had made model horse websites that had pedigree assignments and other random things on it. She made a blog and then started to tell me to make one too. We would be blogging buddies. I kept making excuses about why I didn’t want a blog. There were many, but the biggest one was that I didn’t have a name. Up to that point, all of my horse/dog games plus model horse things were under the name BFF Stables/kennels. Yup. That happened. I didn’t want to have a blog adorned with BFF so I kept saying next time we had an art day. Months went by.

Finally one of those last times she told me to make it and I finally gave in (which I’m quite happy I did). I still didn’t have a name so Maddi recommended for me to measure my arm span and find a bird with the same length, but none of those birds screamed blog name. So I came up with Five Paws Studio because there were five animals in the house then.
I don’t have any pictures of the five together. Even though the five never would have stayed still long enough to have their picture taken (plus that picture wouldn’t have been blog appropriate ahah).

Here’s a picture of Rue and Bullet dressed up for Halloween instead.

So yup. That’s how it started.

The blog has been around for Breyerfests.

Milestones that were huge

and large.
Random shenanigans have popped up. :)
Thanks to all of my readers, new and old!
So tips for other bloggers?
1) Have fun!
2) There’s also a quote that I see alot with writing things that also pertains to this. Be yourself. There’s only one of you and that’s one of the things that makes you unique. So use it!
Now, nominations.

I survived

I made it through my first day of college and enjoyed it.
I didn’t get lost too many times.  I made sure to get to the campus really early for Kristian-wandering-around-time.
I made a cool silk screen t-shirt today, because it was free and why not.

When I got home my planner was waiting for me.

And to put something model horsey-related on this post, here’s a cow that was recently finished. I’m hoping to do model stuff this week, but I have a long weekend, so stuff will get done in theory then!

Made With Code

Today this arrived in the mail. The sad thing is that I had forgotten about it.

This is the *very short* backstory. First, it was made by Made With Code. Made With Code is a program by Google that was created to encourage girls to get excited about coding, with the hope that more girls would enter into the tech industry. Google is investing $50 million dollars into the program over the next 3 years, and on the website there are how-tos and such that deal with coding. It really is a cool program and I applaud the 2 companies on putting their foot where their mouth is (they want to try to get more girls interested? So they fund a project to try to make it happen).
My only jump into coding was another hobby that I’m still semi-a part of. Petz. Each of the original breeds looked like dogs or cats but you could download programs that allowed you to redo the petz and make them into creatures that you wanted.
Hence how I got horses

hippogriffs,

cheetahs,

other dog breeds,

And other animals.

I coded and used another program called the Petz Workshop. I spent many many hours on the game……..
So the bracelet.
The cool part of the program is that you can make 2 free 3-d bracelets. The website is very easy to use and the bracelets are very cool. It literally costs you 0$. The shipping is free too. The bracelet is very cute.
So of course I made one bracelet that says Five Paws Studio and another one that says DFTBA. So click away at the link, read about the program, and make a bracelet or two. :)

Also, Five Paws Studio is now also on Tumblr. I’m still figuring out what one does with it, but if you have a model horse/horse themed tumblr, follow me and I’ll follow back! It’s actually a pretty cool thing.
