A Very Short Breyerfest 2015 Recap

I had a great time at Breyerfest this year!

There was a great mix of real horse,

and model horse.

I also had the opportunity to see the Kentucky Derby Museum, which was awesome.

I took plenty of pictures, so there will be a couple of posts about Breyerfest! Until then, I’m off to read Go Set A Watchman. It arrived at my house the day I left for Breyerfest, so I didn’t get to see it until I got back.

Road To Breyerfest

Breyerfest. Breyerfest. Breyerfest! It may begin officially on Friday,  but the traveling starts way before then. Today I started the journey to Breyerfest with fellow hobbyist Melissa.
I know I threw Carl the zombie into the car, but couldn’t find him.
Instead, Duck-Horse made an appearance.
We started at my house and traveled through the rest of Pennsylvania before hitting Maryland and taking a rest stop. We left at a decent time.

Duck-Horse is easier to photograph than the doll, lemme tell ya.

We made it across bridges,

Saw a really cool Batman car,
and eventually hit storms. The road to Breyerfest is paved with storms.

But we made it to Kentucky! I am so directionally challenged, and am happy that I only got lost 2 times. This is an amazing number. Yes, there was a very loud GPS in the car too.

I hope anyone traveling to Breyerfest has a safe trip and everyone else enjoy your week!

Piece of The Puzzle

Breyerfest is happening in less than a week. SO CLOSE.
That also means the C/Y Show will be happening soon. So I’m going to post the links of the past series I did about getting ready for the C/Y show. Some of the rules have changed this year, so make sure to double check the rules (I plan on updating this series one day!)

Here’s a gun holster that I finished tonight.

Copperfox Pony

On Tuesday, my Copperfox Pony arrived. I pledged earlier this year to be a part of the kickstarter campaign and my package included a model off of one of the three available molds.

I really liked the Connemara mold the first time I saw her, because performance+pony=yes. So I chose her.

Love her face!
I really liked what was included in the package.
There was a Copperfox pin,
certificates of authenticity, a handwritten letter,
,a magazine, and a how-to packet for drawing breyer horses.
After seeing so many variations of dapples, I was worried about what extreme my model would be. When I opened my box, I was pleased that her dapples weren’t too bad. She did have a warped leg, but it wasn’t hard to fix. A blast of heat from my heat gun fixed the issue. I can’t wait to tack her up, and use her in performance.
While I wish the pony looked more like the prototype, I’m happy with my whole package and can’t wait until they’re released as regular runs. It was cool to be a part of the whole campaign. 🙂
