Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover…PT 2

Out of all of my Misty Family Pony Books, Misty of Chincoteague is the one I have the most copies of. Three to be exact.
The first copy I ever bought was the newest cover edition, made for the 60th anniversary.

The funniest thing I find about the Misty of Chincoteague covers, is that none of them really look like the real pony.

The real pony had a marking that went up to her eye, while the books have variously placed facial markings.

This one is the closest to the real pony out of my three
While on my trip in Chincoteague, I was able to buy the original cover version, which matches the Breyer model. While this cover, to me, looks the least like Misty, it matches the Breyer model perfectly! And it’s the original cover, and hardback even though it isn’t a first printing.
I also was able to go to the Theater,
where Misty’s hoof prints are.
And I can’t forget about the statue!

My First Model

I’m starting to write my hobby Bio for the Breyerfest C/Y show today. What do I put in it?  I’m not one of those people who have been a Breyer fan since the 60s. I started in the 2000s and in the later half at that.

Which brings me to my very first Breyer horse. To this day, I have no idea if it’s a custom or original finish or what drew me to the the thing. It’s kind of creepy looking. But if it wasn’t for this creepy model, I probably would have never gotten into Breyer horses.
When I was small, my family and I stopped at a yard sale and something drew me to the model.  Then years later, at Target, I saw a model that had the same looking mold and bought it. There started my realization of there being a company that made portrait models and made pretty horses.
I owe my model horse interest to this model. And although this model will never be in a model horse show, unless it’s a fun class, it will always hold a spot on my shelf for its creepy self.

A Deal Is A Deal

I need more dolls like I need a bullet in my head, but Ollie’s still has them and even has them marked down for 40% I believe. $2.35 a doll? I think yes!

Doll 1 and Doll 2 both have that creepy stare to their face, so hopefully one day I can make them look much less creepy. *shivers* Maybe they have a chance to look calm and more human, since their steeds look so horse-like!
A little aside:
Anyone have any particular how-tos that they want or are looking for?
