Made With Code

Today this arrived in the mail. The sad thing is that I had forgotten about it.

This is the *very short* backstory. First, it was made by Made With Code. Made With Code is a program by Google that was created to encourage girls to get excited about coding, with the hope that more girls would enter into the tech industry. Google is investing $50 million dollars into the program over the next 3 years, and on the website there are how-tos and such that deal with coding. It really is a cool program and I applaud the 2 companies on putting their foot where their mouth is (they want to try to get more girls interested? So they fund a project to try to make it happen).
My only jump into coding was another hobby that I’m still semi-a part of. Petz. Each of the original breeds looked like dogs or cats but you could download programs that allowed you to redo the petz and make them into creatures that you wanted.
Hence how I got horses

hippogriffs,

cheetahs,

other dog breeds,

And other animals.

I coded and used another program called the Petz Workshop. I spent many many hours on the game……..
So the bracelet.
The cool part of the program is that you can make 2 free 3-d bracelets. The website is very easy to use and the bracelets are very cool. It literally costs you 0$. The shipping is free too. The bracelet is very cute.
So of course I made one bracelet that says Five Paws Studio and another one that says DFTBA. So click away at the link, read about the program, and make a bracelet or two. :)

Also, Five Paws Studio is now also on Tumblr. I’m still figuring out what one does with it, but if you have a model horse/horse themed tumblr, follow me and I’ll follow back! It’s actually a pretty cool thing.

Jumping into Social Media

Even though I am currently a teen, by no means would I call myself a huge teen social media person. But I broke my bubble and Five Paws Studio now has an Instagram which *shockingly* is called fivepawsstudio. Cassie Thomas of Clover Leaf Props had one and it looked like fun, so I have one too now!
So if you’re on Instagram, go follow! http://instagram.com/fivepawsstudio
I decided to make one and it turned out that I had made one before. We won’t go into the sadness of what it looked like. But obviously, when I made it I didn’t have a clue about how to work it.

Now the last part of Five Paws’ new outlets. Youtube.
My friend(who has her own blog here) and I have a shared youtube account thing. While it won’t be completely model horse-y, I plan on making model horse videos ranging from tips, to pictures, to how-tos. The goal for the channel is for her to vlog and give tips about her awesome life next year in Japan and for me to talk about my life here, aka college and hobbies. If I figure out youtube, hopefully there will be a video in the near future!

Breyerfest Loot

I *think* that I have recovered from Breyerfest. It was a wonderful weekend.
But I’ve finally unpacked my models I bought.
First, I bought a cow from Towns End Art. You can never have enough cows.

Next is Hotchic 2.0 who was casted by Mountain View Studios. I can’t wait to paint her and do performance-y stuff with her.

Next is the Celebration model, which I actually am not unhappy about. I like the gloss.

My volunteer model, which I think will stay with me for now (unless someone would like to trade an unpainted Chexs Bueno *hint*)

Lastly are my special run models.
I bought two platinum stars,

and the bear pair. Both are adorable.

I also ended up with a silver nakota pop the cork and a matte appy, but those will be going on to their new homes soon, so they aren’t included with my loot!
