Horsemanship

A couple of weeks ago I went to the PA State 4-h show with Lizzie.
I was able to make one of her classes, which was horsemanship. Each horse and rider rode a pattern in front of the judges, which consisted of different movements.

After everyone was done, the riders and horses were brought in and had to walk, jog, and lope in each direction.

Once that was done, they all came back to the center of the arena and the winner was announced.

How Did I Start Blogging?
Once upon a time, long ago, in a small little village in the middle of a large forest…..
Just joking. No fairy tale start here.
And it didn’t start this long ago.

How did I start blogging?
In 2012 my friend Maddi, who runs Gyrfalcon Studios , had been hounding me to make a blog. Prior to then we had made model horse websites that had pedigree assignments and other random things on it. She made a blog and then started to tell me to make one too. We would be blogging buddies. I kept making excuses about why I didn’t want a blog. There were many, but the biggest one was that I didn’t have a name. Up to that point, all of my horse/dog games plus model horse things were under the name BFF Stables/kennels. Yup. That happened. I didn’t want to have a blog adorned with BFF so I kept saying next time we had an art day. Months went by.

Finally one of those last times she told me to make it and I finally gave in (which I’m quite happy I did). I still didn’t have a name so Maddi recommended for me to measure my arm span and find a bird with the same length, but none of those birds screamed blog name. So I came up with Five Paws Studio because there were five animals in the house then.
I don’t have any pictures of the five together. Even though the five never would have stayed still long enough to have their picture taken (plus that picture wouldn’t have been blog appropriate ahah).

Here’s a picture of Rue and Bullet dressed up for Halloween instead.

So yup. That’s how it started.

The blog has been around for Breyerfests.

Milestones that were huge

and large.
Random shenanigans have popped up. 🙂
Thanks to all of my readers, new and old!
So tips for other bloggers?
1) Have fun!
2) There’s also a quote that I see alot with writing things that also pertains to this. Be yourself. There’s only one of you and that’s one of the things that makes you unique. So use it!

Ride For Pride

On Saturday, I went to Ride For Pride. It’s always is fun to see your friends and to show! While I didn’t take as many pictures as usual, I tried to stay semi organized with ribbons and keep track of who won what. 🙂
Performance was the first division. Artist Resin/Customs and Original finish were separated.
It started out with harness, but I seemed to not have taken pictures of it!
Saddleseat was second.

I didn’t take a picture of my pony, but she won second in the class!
Other performance was next.
I have very dark humor.

This guy got a third. Yay for deciding to enter random horses into classes!

I managed to completely miss the next couple of classes, so here’s English!
It started with Dressage.
I used my Kinetic Sand for the first time. It wasn’t messy at all. 🙂

I’ve been wanting a Harley D Zip since he came out, so when I got the chance to get one in hand, I did! Of course I couldn’t think of any cool names for him, so he was stuck with Zipper. And he got a Nan Card. Sorry Zipper. 😀
