CATRA Volunteering Day

Close to the beginning of the spring semester, I was walking around and saw this flyer about an equestrian club team. Of course I joined! :)

Today I went with part of the group to CATRA, which is a therapeutic riding center near-ish to me.
The group of us groomed the horses.

Then we helped with the lessons. I was a side walker who helped with balance and talking.  It was alot of fun.

Now, there was also an assortment of other animals on top of horses.

Including this nearly 40 year old pony!
There were horses of all sizes.
From Miniatures

to horse-sized.

This *jokingly* was my favorite horse. Could hold five riders with no problem.
In all, today was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to do more like it. :)

Summer Pony!

The weather is beautiful and school is coming to a close in the next couple of weeks.
This guy was going to be painted for me, but a weird reaction happened during the stripping process. He was offered to me as a body. :) I never realized the size that Wyatt was, so that’s a good thing in terms of tack making. I also want to work on him, so he will be one of my *hopeful* summer projects. :)

Tuesday

The day started off on a somber note after listening to a Holocaust survivor’s experiences in Auschwitz. I’m taking a history class about the Holocaust because it’s a subject that interests me and the woman who talked was very nice.
Afterwards, I got a text from Lizzie. She’s making me a ‘secret saddle pad’, and this is the picture. Mean mean mean.

I also received an old packing set I made (I also received books that I had forgotten I’d ordered. So I guess I gave myself a gift.). I threw the packing set on my Dos Brio and added the Breyer Panniers to it. I love it so. I need to make new cinches for it, but that’s for another day!

To end the day, I had a riding lesson. I rode Charm and here she is in her stall after the lesson. :)

Hopefully everyone’s enjoying Spring!
