Butcher Cabin Books

During this roadtrip of bookstores, I’ve posted about a wide range of bookstores!

The next stop was on the other side of the spectrum: horror. I feel like during this new boom of reading that romance and horror have grown the most readership. That is simply from observation, not from a study or numbers. Romance is already the best selling genre across the board, but I feel like horror also fills a hole in escapism.

I’d heard about Butcher Cabin so I was excited to visit. From the moment I stepped into this shop, it was clear it was for horror lovers.

The ceiling had a mural devoted to various horror icons.

Horror books—independently published and traditionally published were everywhere. Along with horror items on the walls.

I found some great books and I enjoyed seeing Paperbacks From Hell and some of the titles within the book on the table.

I decided to buy these two indie published books. Don’t they have beautiful covers?

I also bought this vintage book. I love collecting vintage horror paperbacks from the 1970s-1990s, so I was excited to add this to the collection! I left with a branded postcard and sticker too.

Butcher Cabin Books ended the bookstore road trip, but that meant it was Readers On The River time!
