I love collecting books—particularly rare, limited, and signed editions. I love meeting authors, so that’s where I obtain the majority of my personalized signed books.

The other way is through Owlcrate. It’s a monthly book subscription box that sends a hand signed book along with related book items every month. I first subscribed to it in 2015, dropped it for a few years, joined again, and have been going strong for the last few years.
Owlcrate, along with many of the big book subscriptions, have increased their exclusive editions the last few years. I think a lot of this is because of #booktok and the increase in readers. Which is great for everyone!
In 2023 I bought V.E Schwab‘s The Fragile Threads of Power and Cassandra Clare’s Sword Catcher through Owlcrate. (Doesn’t Jax look thrilled?).

I don’t subscribe to more boxes, it’s not feasible, but my friends do! That’s how I ended up with Tracy Deon’s signed Fairyloot edition of Legendborn and Bloodmarked. Thanks Jelaina!

Last year, Owlcrate announced an exclusive version of Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bones trilogy. I loved the series when I read them. They offered a books only and a books and goodies box, so I bought the later.
The box came!

The books are gorgeous. They feature a reversible dust jacket, foiled hardback, and sprayed edges.

Shadow and Bone was hand-signed.

The included items were all branded and related to the series.

I love the enamel pins— these were nicely done!

I’m happy I bought the box and these new books will look great on my shelf.
