I finished the basic shape of the western tree—which meant sanding! No part of the tree will show when used with a saddle, but it’s better to start with a good base.

Once that was finished, next came making a mold. I’m making a 2 piece mold since the tree can’t be done with a single one. If the tree was flat on the underside, then I would’ve made a one part mold.
I have plenty of mini holders so I figured I’d make the mold in there. I started building the first half of the mold with clay.

I watched numerous YouTube videos to get the gist of two part molds. Once I’d build up enough, I mixed up my mold maker. I’m a part of many hobby groups for customizing and this seemed popular and recommended.

Mold part one is DONE. Now to let it cure.
