Here’s part two of SaddleUp Harrisburg!
Next came some grooming after learning about various brushes. Some kids had been around horses before while others were new.

The leading portion seemed to be camper’s favorites. The campers started with learning how to control and maneuver the horses.

Eventually there was trotting.

And maneuvering over poles.

During the second arena activity, the youngest campers watched lounging and jumping.

The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association led an activity about harness racing and the kids designed their own driver silks.

While they did that, I found myself back at the arena to watch some of the volunteers ride.

I so enjoyed interacting and watching the campers for the day. SaddleUp Harrisburg is such a great and inclusive program and I was so happy to be able to volunteer.
